The number on the chip in the top bar is this release. It is the same
number TestFlight shows as the build number, so the iPad app and the web
app can be talked about with one figure.

The two combined pages are back
14 October 2026
A job with both a floor plan and a site plan gets all four pages again. It should give you the floor plan, the site plan, the two side by side, and the floor plan within the site plan. Since the middle of September the last two have been failing to draw, so you quietly got two pages where four were promised. Both are drawing again.
You would not have seen this unless you drew a site plan as well as a floor plan. Every job so far has been a floor plan on its own, which is why it went a month without anyone noticing.
If a page ever fails to draw again, the reason is now kept with the job instead of being thrown away, so it can be chased rather than guessed at.
r337
Surfaces meet the house
14 October 2026
Drawing a deck on a floor plan now works the way drawing a room does. It used to land a few centimetres off the wall with no way to close the gap, and because its first corner missed the building's corner the whole shape could not close square — so a deck came out leaning. Both corners now land on the house exactly, and the deck squares up. The same goes for a tiled area, a landing, or any surface drawn against the building.
Nothing changes on a site plan. Lawn, paving and a pool outline are drawn around a house rather than onto it, and they still follow the line you drew.
If you want a surface that genuinely is not straight — a curved garden bed — switch Outline to "Allow curves" in the Surfaces panel and it keeps every bend, as before.
r336
Catching up the notes
14 October 2026
Nothing you can see. The release below went out without its notes; these are them.
r335
The download always matches the latest plans
14 October 2026
Nothing you can see, unless you had a plan redrawn in the few minutes r334 was live. If you asked for a change and your plan came back with fewer pages than before, the download button could still have handed you the pages as they were before the change — a label you had asked to have taken off would still have been on it. The download is now rebuilt or cleared every time your plans are redrawn, so what you get is always the latest.
r334
Your plan comes as a download
14 October 2026
The email no longer attaches your plan. There is one download button instead, and it brings every page. A set of four full size plans made a heavy email that some mail servers would not take, and an attachment is awkward to save on a phone. Tap the button and all of your pages arrive together in one zip, each one already named for what it is — floor plan, site plan, the two side by side — rather than arriving called the same thing four times. A job with a single page just downloads that page.
The download is ready the moment your plans are. It is put together while the pages are being drawn, so the button hands it straight over instead of making you wait again, and it is rebuilt whenever you have the plans redrawn.
Worth knowing: that link lasts two days, the same two days your prepared pages are kept, so save the files once you have them. Nothing is kept in your mailbox afterwards. The plan itself stays in LUXplan and you can send it to yourself again any time at no extra cost.
The subject line now matches the other LUXengine emails you get: "[Plan ready]" and the address.
r333
Room colour meets the wall
13 October 2026
The colour on a room now stops in line with the wall, not short of it. It was pulled back to the inside face, which left a thin white gap all the way round every coloured room. It now runs under the wall to its centre, so the colour and the wall meet with nothing between them, and at a doorway it stops square across the opening in line with the wall either side.
An L-shaped room is coloured as an L. The plan now carries each room's real shape, so a room with a corner taken out of it no longer gets coloured as though it were a rectangle. That corner used to be filled in with the rest.
Both of these are on the finished plan you receive. Nothing changes on the drawing itself.
r332
See the plan properly, and a tidier email
13 October 2026
Tap the prepared plan to see it full size. The preview in the submit window is big enough to see that a plan arrived and nowhere near big enough to read it, which is where everything you would want to check actually shows up. Tapping it opens it over the screen; tapping it again goes to full size, where you can read every label. Close, or press Escape. Both the plan you submit to an agency and the pages you buy and email yourself.
You can ask for a fitting to be taken off, as well as swapped. "Take the dishwasher out, there is no dishwasher." It is the same wording you already use for a name, so "remove the bath and the laundry name" does both in one go.
The email that carries your plan has been rebuilt. It was the name set as plain text in the wrong typeface. It is now the same design as the LUXengine notifications you already get, with the real mark, set in Montserrat, and it links to luxengine.com. If your mail program blocks images it still reads as the name, in the right colours.
And it has a Download your plan button. Useful on a phone, where saving an attachment is fiddly. The link is only good for that one plan, and it lasts the two days your prepared pages are kept, which is what the privacy policy has always said. Your plan is attached either way, and that copy is yours to keep. If the button does not survive your mail program, the link is printed underneath it, short enough to read on one line.
r331
Ask for a change in words
13 October 2026
You can now say what you want changed, in words, at the preview. Type something like "remove the laundry name, and call the back room Study" and tap Make the change. It is for the moment you see the finished plan and spot something you want different, without closing the preview, finding it on the plan and coming back.
It can swap a fitting as well as a name. "Swap the stove to a 5 burner", or "the sink is actually a double, and the bath is a shower". The fitting stays exactly where you put it and the size you made it: only the drawing changes.
It tells you exactly what it changed, and what it would not. Every change is listed in plain words before you submit anything. If it could not do something you asked, it says so rather than going quiet.
It only ever changes room names and which fitting is drawn. Walls, sizes and where things sit are yours, drawn on the plan, and nothing you type here can move them. Ask to move the stove, or for the garage to be 2m bigger, and it will tell you to do that on the plan itself. Room sizes cannot be touched from here at all.
The changes land in your plan, not just in the picture, so you can see them on the drawing afterwards and undo them if you did not mean them. Prepare again to see the new plan before you submit.
It is on both previews: submitting to an agency, and the pages you buy and email yourself. On the second it changes the floor plan, which is where room names are, and brings that drawing to the front so you can see what changed.
r330
Tidier plans
13 October 2026
Words inside a symbol now read the right way up. Fifteen symbols carry a word rather than a drawing: FRIDGE SPACE, the DW on a dishwasher, BIR, LIN, A/C, the up and down on a stair, and the letters on a fridge, washer, dryer, fountain and tank. Each word used to turn with the symbol, so a fridge space backed against a top wall printed its words upside down and one on a side wall printed them sideways. They stay horizontal now, whichever way the symbol faces and whichever way the page is turned.
Room colour stops at the wall, not in the doorway. A room's outline runs down the middle of the walls around it, which is right for measuring and wrong for colouring: a tint taken that far covered the inner half of every wall, and at a doorway, where there is no wall to hide it, it ran across the threshold and under the door. The plan now says where each room's floor actually stops, so a bathroom or a laundry is coloured up to the wall face and the doors in it stay clean. The kitchen shading in an open-plan room follows the same edge.
The branded plan picks the room colour up from this, so this part lands once the brand side reads it. The kitchen shading you see while drawing is already on the new edge.
A room you left blank stays blank. Delete a room name LUXplan guessed for you and it has always stopped offering it, but the finished plan could still come back with that name on it, put there at the drawing step. The plan now says which rooms you meant to leave unnamed, so nothing adds one back. Rooms you simply have not got to yet are named as before.
r329
Nothing you can see
13 October 2026
LUXplan for iPad becomes version 1.0.1, which is the version carrying the sign-in renewal in r328. A released version is closed to new builds, so a fix after release needs a version of its own.
r328
Your sign-in renews itself
13 October 2026
No more being signed out mid-job. A sign-in lasted a day and was only renewed when the app started, so an iPad left open across a week quietly passed that mark. It now renews every time you come back to the app, and again by itself the moment anything finds the sign-in has run out. You are not asked to do anything.
Where it cannot renew, because there is no signal or the sign-in has genuinely ended, it says so and offers Sign in again, as it did before. Still no price until you are signed in.
Renewing also picks up a purchase that could not be recorded at the time, so a plan bought while the sign-in was out lands as soon as it comes back.
This one needs the new version of the app from the App Store. Until then LUXplan asks you to sign in again instead, which works just as well, only with a tap.
r327
A sign-in that has ended says so
13 October 2026
No price against a sign-in that has ended. A sign-in lasts a day, and an iPad left open passes that without anything being said. The Finalise window used to answer with "could not check your account, try again in a moment" and leave Buy sitting there. Trying again could never work, and a plan bought then could not be attached to the sign-in that had ended. It now says the sign-in has ended, offers Sign in again, and shows no price at all until you have.
Nothing is lost when that happens. The drawing stays on the iPad, and a plan already paid for stays paid for, which the window now says.
While your plans are being prepared, the screen says to stay on it. Closing that window stops the preparation, which it never mentioned. It also says the plan is paid for either way, so starting again costs nothing.
r326
A room's name stops printing over its size
13 October 2026
The name LUXplan guesses for a room now sits above the size, not on it. A name you typed always had the size set beneath it; a guessed one was placed at the middle of the room, which is exactly where the size goes, so the two printed through each other and neither could be read. It happened in every room LUXplan named for you, and only those.
Plans you send out were never affected, because a guessed name is left off them. They are unchanged: the size still sits in the middle of a room whose only name was a guess, and still drops below a name you typed.
r325
Draw a window at a corner
13 October 2026
A window sketched near a junction is a window. Drawing a short line along a wall turns it into a window, and it used to fail wherever the ink ran past the end of that wall: at a corner, or across a wall another wall had cut in two. It did not fail quietly either, it drew walls along the wall already there, which then had to be undone. The ink is now read against the wall's line rather than its ends, and the window is the part of it that lies on the wall.
A stroke heading away from a wall still draws a wall, exactly as before. So does one carrying straight on past the end of a wall, and one on a plan with nothing drawn on it yet.
r324
Put LUXscan on the iPhone from the iPad
3 October 2026
A code to point the phone at. Choosing to scan from a phone shows a pairing code to type into LUXscan, which is no use at all if the phone does not have LUXscan on it — and typing an App Store search onto a phone you have just been handed, in somebody's hallway, is how a job ends up drawn by hand. Under the pairing code there is now "Don't have LUXscan on the iPhone?". Open it, point the iPhone's camera at the code on the iPad, and it opens LUXscan on the App Store.
Shut unless you open it, because most of the time the phone already has it. The code is drawn on the iPad itself, so nothing is fetched to show it.
r323
Nothing you can see
2 October 2026
A build check on the app's own API. Every /api path the app asks for now has to be one a function actually serves, or the build fails. A mistyped or renamed route used to ship green: the site answers an unclaimed path with the app's own page and a success code, so nothing in the app could tell it had gone wrong until a photographer hit it.
r322
Nothing you can see
2 October 2026
Wording on this page. The last two entries quoted the person who asked for the change; these notes are about what the app does, so they no longer do that.
r321
A plan is kept the moment you leave it
2 October 2026
Your plan goes in the drawer when you leave the editor. Until now a drawing was only kept when another job took the screen, so the list was never a record of your plans — it was a record of the ones you had moved on from. A new iPad with one job on the go held nothing at all, and the screen that lists them had nothing to show.
Your plans, from the address screen, always. With nothing else kept there is now a Your plans button, so the one job you have on the go is still reachable; it is listed under Open now with its own picture. Where plans are already kept, See all is where it was.
r320
Ask for the newest version
2 October 2026
Tap the release number, top right. It tells you which release you are on and when it was built, links to these notes, and has Get the latest. Until now the only way to a new version was the banner that appears when the app notices one by itself: if that check quietly failed, on one bar of signal or a hotel wifi, there was no way to ask for one.
Get the latest checks first and tells you the truth either way. On the newest already, it says so and does nothing. Unable to reach the server, it says that instead of claiming you are up to date, because a check that never happened is not an answer. When there is a newer build, your drawing is saved before anything else and the app comes back on it.
r319
Your plans, as pictures
2 October 2026
A screen of every plan on the iPad. Tap See all on the address screen and there they are, each one shown as the shape of its own drawing, newest first and grouped by the month you drew it. You find a plan by recognising it, the way you find a photo, instead of reading thirty addresses. Tap one to carry on with it.
Search from there too. The same search as the address screen: part of an address, a job number, the agency, or the month. No limit on how many it shows, because the screen is the page rather than a list hanging under a search box.
The pictures are drawn from the plan itself and kept with it, so the screen opens straight away however many plans are on the iPad. Plans drawn before this release get their picture the first time you look at them. A job you opened and never drew on says so rather than showing an empty frame.
r318
Find an old plan, and add an address with no signal
2 October 2026
Search the plans on this iPad. The box on the address screen now searches the plans already on the iPad as well as looking up new addresses. Type any part of an address, a job number, the agency or the month you drew it, in any order, and the matching plans come up above the addresses, each with Open on it. The list below shows the five most recent with Show all for the rest; the iPad keeps thirty. Before this, only the newest five could be reached at all.
Add an address with no connection. With no signal, type the address off the letterbox and LUXplan starts the job on it. The moment the iPad is back on a connection it looks the address up by itself, fills in the map position and the country, and fetches the site plan's aerial. Where what it finds is not plainly the address you typed, it asks before changing anything: Use it, or Keep mine. Nothing about drawing, saving or any tool needed a connection before, and none of it does now.
The sign-in is a proper button. On the address screen, who you are signed in as, and signing in or out, sit in a card of their own instead of a line of grey text, and say what signing in is for. Drawing is still free.
r317
Nothing you can see
18 September 2026
The notes for r316, which went out without them.
r316
A benchtop is drawn a leg at a time
18 September 2026
Draw a bench the way you draw a wall. On the Benchtops tool, choose A run: draw one leg, then start the next where the last one finished, and they become one benchtop mitred at the corner. A kitchen that runs along two walls and returns across the corner is three strokes now, instead of one unbroken pass you had to get right in one go.
A drawn bench squares up. Legs land straight and at right angles, the way walls do. 45° gives a return across a corner, and Free leaves the line exactly as you drew it, for a curved island. What you see under the pen is what lands when you lift it.
Dragging still gives you a box, and two boxes that meet still become one top: that has not changed.
A leg drawn back along the run it started from is not drawn at all, rather than laying a second bench on top of the first.
r315
A host's plan is prepared only from a signed job link
17 September 2026
Job links are signed. A LUXengine host now signs each job link it opens LUXplan with, and our server checks the signature before it prepares the agency's plan. The plan has to be for the agency and photographer the link was signed for, and the link has to be current: a host's link lasts at most a week. A link anyone could write was a finished plan without paying.
An unsigned job link still opens LUXplan and can be drawn on, but its plan is not prepared, and the window says why without offering to try again. Until a host is connected with a signing key, host plans are not prepared at all, and the window says preparing is not connected yet.
r314
Sign in to finish a plan, and LUXplan only in the app
17 September 2026
Finishing a plan needs a sign-in. Without one, the top bar says Finalise and its window asks you to sign in with your Apple Account, then carries on to buy the plan, or to prepare it when it is already paid for. Before this, anyone not signed in could download the plan as an SVG and skip the purchase.
No plan files handed out in the app. Download SVG is gone. A host's plan goes back through Send to host, as before.
No website version. Opened in a browser, plan.luxengine.com shows where to get LUXplan for iPad and LUXscan for iPhone on the App Store, with Support and Privacy. On an iPad with LUXplan installed, a LUXengine host's link opens the app. The support, privacy and release notes pages are as they were.
The Finalise window no longer shows the laser check reminder. Laser readings are still taken on a selected scanned wall, and the note after a scan still says how many are wanted.
r313
Choose a job's country
16 September 2026
Country, on the address screen. Beside the address search, choose Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom or Anywhere. The search looks only there, and a job started with Skip is written for that country. The choice lasts for that visit; each time, LUXplan starts from where the iPad is connected, as before, so one US job does not hide Australian addresses the next day. A picked address still decides its own job's country.
Country, in plan settings. Any job's country can be changed after it starts: useful for a job opened from a host, one started with no address, or one looked up under the wrong country. The room names, level names, spelling and trade words it offers follow the new country from then on. Names already on the plan, and its units, stay as they are. The change is kept with the plan on this iPad.
The site plan's aerial search looks in the job's country, follows a change to it, and now offers the United Kingdom. Spell checking in text fields follows the job's country only.
r312
Words and sizes that work in Australia and the US
16 September 2026
Sizes in the plan's units. On a plan in feet, the width and depth boxes for doors, windows, fixtures, benches, paths and buildings show feet and inches. A plain number typed into one is inches, so 32 is a 32 inch door. On a metric plan they show millimetres as before, and they now also take a size with its unit, such as 0.9m or 2'8". Feet and inches typed on an iPad keyboard, with its curly quote marks, are read too. Setting a picture's scale asks for feet on a plan in feet, the picture's width and grid square show in the plan's units (the grid square is now the one Grid is set to), and the aerial frame widths read in feet.
Counters on US jobs. On a job for a US address the Bench tool is Counter, a benchtop is a countertop and an island bench is an island. Laundry tub, Built-in robe, Robe doors, TV unit and Lift are Utility sink, Built-in closet, Closet doors, TV stand and Elevator, and Finalise is spelled Finalize. Australian jobs keep their words.
Wording that reads the same in both countries. Rotate left and Rotate right instead of anticlockwise and clockwise. Floors instead of storeys. LUXplan "picks out" walls and fixtures, and "works out" a sketched symbol, instead of recognising them. Finesse labels and fixtures says Turn it off instead of Untick. The address search suggests the suburb or city, the plan photo step no longer quotes an Australian figure, and the loading notes lose the kerb, the block and the millimetres. A bench run is "joined at the corners".
Spell check knows counter, countertop, walkway and sidewalk.
r311
US jobs get US words on the plan
16 September 2026
Room names in US words. On a job for a US address, the room name list offers Primary Bedroom, Primary Bath, Walk-in Closet, Half Bath, Powder Room, Laundry Room, Bonus Room, Media Room, Great Room, Breakfast Nook, Porch and Covered Patio. A room that LUXplan names from a scan or from its fixtures gets the US name too. Australian jobs keep Master Bedroom, Ensuite, WC, Walk-in Robe and the rest.
Floors counted the US way. On a US job the floor at street level is the First Floor, then the Second Floor. An Australian job still starts at the Ground Floor.
Feet and inches for a new US job. Its floor plan and site plan start in imperial, and Units still changes it. Jobs already started keep the units they have. On a plan in feet, Grid now offers squares of 6 inches, 1, 2, 5 and 10 feet, and always shows the square the plan is using. Changing Units moves a Grid or Snap to setting that the new units do not offer back to the default, instead of leaving the menu blank.
The address decides. A job is written for the country its address is in. A job started without an address follows the country the iPad is connected from, when LUXplan can tell, and is Australian otherwise.
Spell check knows US room words. Primary, Half Bath, Great Room, Bonus Room, Den, WIC and ft are no longer underlined, and no name the list offers is underlined for its country. Colorbond is spelled the way the brand spells it, so it is no longer underlined on Australian jobs.
The room types an export carries now recognise the US names as well, so a Walk-in Closet or Primary Bath arrives as the room it is.
r310
LUXplan says it is for real estate
16 September 2026
Made for real estate photographers and agents. The App Store listings LUXplan and LUXscan will launch with say who they are for, in words that read the same in Australia and the US, and so do the page title and description that search results and shared links show. The support page opens the same way.
Get the app from Safari. Once LUXplan is on the App Store, plan.luxengine.com in Safari on an iPad can offer it in a banner at the top. Not in Private Browsing.
The support, privacy and release notes pages show the LUXplan icon in the browser tab again.
r309
Delete account lets go of your Apple sign-in
15 September 2026
Deleting your account asks Apple to let go of your sign-in. Our server now has the key Apple asks for, so when you delete your account it asks Apple to take LUXplan off your Apple Account's list of apps using Sign in with Apple. Before this, the account was deleted and that step was skipped.
The server reads the key however it was pasted in: the whole file, on one line, or only the part between its first and last lines. Apple accepts the key read that way; a real deletion is still to show it end to end.
r308
LUXscan for the App Store, for iPhone
15 September 2026
LUXscan becomes the iPhone app for scanning. It goes to the App Store beside LUXplan, for Pro iPhones with LiDAR from the iPhone 15 Pro on: a whole floor in one scan needs a new iPhone's speed and memory, and the App Store will not offer it to older phones. On a newer iPhone without LiDAR it says what it needs.
Scanning on iPhone stays a choice on iPad Pro. When you scan in LUXplan on an iPad with LiDAR, pick This iPad or iPhone; it remembers which. The support page now explains both ways.
LUXplan's instructions for scanning with the iPhone now say to walk the floor first, then type the code, which is the order LUXscan asks for them.
LUXscan is version 1.0.
r307
Double-tap for Select, and Pencil taps you can feel
15 September 2026
Double-tap switches between Select and your tool. Drawing walls, double-tap Apple Pencil to pick something up with Select; double-tap again to go back to drawing. Whatever you just drew stays selected. It goes back to whichever tool you were using, and does this whatever Settings, Apple Pencil says for a double-tap, unless double-tap is turned off there. Squeeze still does what Settings says.
A tap in your hand as things snap. Apple Pencil Pro taps while it is on the screen as the corner of a box you are dragging out, the end of a wall you are drawing freehand, a wall end or corner you are dragging, or the end of a tape, snaps onto a corner or wall or into line with a corner. Once for each, so sliding along a line does not buzz, and moving across the grid alone does not tap.
No tap as a room closes. It came after the Pencil lifted, when a tap cannot be felt, so it is gone.
In the last iPad app the taps were asked of the web view rather than the part inside it that the Pencil touches, and only freehand walls asked for them at all. Both are changed; this needs the next iPad app update, and it is still to be felt on a real Apple Pencil Pro.
r306
Apple Pencil shortcuts, and Apple Pencil only
15 September 2026
Double-tap. A double-tap on Apple Pencil (second generation or Pro) does what you set in Settings, Apple Pencil: switch to Erase and back to the tool you were using, or switch to the tool you used last. If you set it to show the palette, it shows the tools.
Squeeze. Squeeze Apple Pencil Pro and the tools open right where the Pencil is: Select, Draw, Doors & windows, Symbols, Bench, Label and the rest. Tap one, or tap away to close. That is the standard squeeze setting; if you set squeeze to switch to the eraser or the last tool in Settings, it does that instead. Nothing changes tool while the Pencil is touching the screen.
Hover. Hold the Pencil just above the screen while dragging out a room, bench, boundary or texture as a box, or measuring, and LUXplan shows the corner or grid point it will start from, with the lines it lines up with. Needs an iPad and Pencil that support hover.
A tap in your hand. Apple Pencil Pro gives a small tap as a wall you are drawing lines up with a corner, and as a room closes.
Finger is gone. The Finger switch in the top bar, and the note offering it, are removed. Drawing needs Apple Pencil, and drawing without one is not supported; a finger moves and zooms the plan as it always did.
Double-tap, squeeze and the taps in your hand need the next iPad app update and do nothing in Safari; the hover preview works wherever the iPad and Pencil support hover. A Pencil without these features draws as before.
r305
Delete your account, draw with your finger, and LUXplan's privacy policy
15 September 2026
Delete account. Signed in on the iPad app, tap Delete account beside your name on the address screen. LUXplan says what goes before anything happens: your sign-in, name and email, any exports you have not used, your walk-up pages, and the plans saved on that iPad. You confirm with Apple, and LUXplan stops using your Apple sign-in. Purchase records are kept for tax and refunds, without your name. It cannot be undone. This needs the next iPad app update.
Finger, in the top bar. LUXplan draws with Apple Pencil, and a finger moves the plan so a resting hand never draws. Turn on Finger and one finger draws with the drawing tools (walls, benches, doors and windows, symbols, paths, textures and boundaries), while two fingers move and zoom. Select, Erase and Measure work with a finger as before. It stays off until you turn it on, and it is remembered on that iPad. If a finger tries to draw with no Pencil used yet, LUXplan says so once and offers to turn it on.
Tap a wall with the Pencil to place a door. With Doors & windows, a Pencil tap on a wall placed nothing; only a finger's tap did. Now either does.
Privacy and Support. The address screen links LUXplan's own privacy policy and a support page, which open in Safari.
A room scan sent from another device with a code is now deleted from our servers within two hours, even when it was never collected.
The Skip button on the address screen reads "Skip, no address yet", the North, Measure and Symbols hints are reworded without long dashes, and the iPad app becomes version 1.0, ready for the App Store.
r304
Room names from a list, and the kitchen's own area in an open-plan room
15 September 2026
Choose a room's name from a list. Select a room name and tap Names for every standard name, A to Z: Bedroom 1 to 5, Ensuite, Kitchen, Living, Meals, Walk-in Robe and the rest. Tap one and it is set. Type a name opens the text field for anything the list does not have, and the field beside Names still takes typing too.
The list opens for you. Tapping a name LUXplan suggested, placing a room name with the Label tool, or dragging one in all leave it selected with the list open. A level name still goes straight to its text field, as there is no list of levels.
Drag a room name onto the plan. The Label panel has a Room name tile. Drag it to where the room is and let go.
A kitchen's area in an open-plan room. When one room holds the kitchen, dining and living, the Kitchen name gets an area of its own, shown as a light blue wash with a dashed edge. LUXplan suggests it round the appliances and the benches beside them, with a metre to walk in front, kept inside the room. A bench across the room, like a TV unit, is left out. The area follows the benches as you draw and move them.
Drag its edges to where the kitchen ends. Select the Kitchen name to see a handle on each side and corner. An edge dragged past a wall stops on the wall, and the colour never goes past the room's walls, even in an L-shaped room. Once reshaped it stays where you put it; Reset area in the bar puts it back round the benches. Deleting the Kitchen name deletes its area, and Undo takes back a drag.
A kitchen that is a room of its own gets no area: the whole room is the kitchen. That includes a kitchen you later close off with a wall. A name not chosen yet, or a Pantry, does not make a room open plan.
The name list closes when you select something else, and does not open again by itself.
Not coloured in your finished plans yet. The area goes to LUXbrand with the plan but is invisible in it, and LUXbrand does not tint kitchens yet. That needs a change on LUXbrand's side. Until then, finished plans look the same as before.

The old one-page JPEG is gone from the code
12 September 2026
Behind the scenes; nothing you use changes. Before walk-up plans came back from LUXbrand, the app drew a single JPEG itself and emailed it. That code had not run since r297, and it is now removed, along with the server's way of accepting such a file. Emails carry only the pages LUXbrand drew.
r302
Open an earlier job again
11 September 2026
Every job's drawing is kept. Starting a new job used to replace the last drawing on the device. Now each job's drawing is put away when another takes its place, for your last 30 jobs, and it opens again exactly where you left it.
Recent jobs on the address screen. Your latest jobs are listed under the address search, each with Open, so there is no need to look the address up again.
Open job, not only file against it. When an address already has a job whose drawing is on this device, the job screen now offers to open it, above the choices for a new plan.
A walk-up plan you have paid for can be opened again and its pages prepared again at no extra cost.
Drawings replaced before this release are not kept, so they cannot be opened again.
r301
The site plan gets its own page too
11 September 2026
Four pages when you have both plans. Prepare my plans now gives you the floor plan, the site plan, the two side by side, and the floor plan within the site. The site plan used to have a page of its own only when there was no floor plan. All four are shown in the window and go in the one email.
r300
Room sizes along the room's own walls
11 September 2026
A room drawn at an angle gets its true size. A room's width and depth are now measured along its own walls, on screen and in the plan you send. On a site plan drawn at the property's bearing, a shed about 6.9 m square used to read 9.6m x 9.6m, the size of the box it fits in; it now reads 6.9m x 6.9m. Its area was always right.
Rooms drawn square to the page read exactly as before, and one crooked wall does not tip a room's measurements.
r299
A test house laid out like a real one
11 September 2026
Behind the scenes; nothing in the app changes. The plan every brand is tested against had its fridge standing in the kitchen bench and in the doorway to the dining room, and a bath in the rumpus room. The kitchen, laundry, dining room and living room are now laid out as a drafter would draw them.
It checks itself. The test plan will not build if anything stands in a bench it does not belong in, in another fixture, in or just in front of a doorway, or through a wall.
r298
Saving a walk-up page says when it fails
11 September 2026
A Save that fails says so. On an account with no email address, each prepared page has a Save button. If a page cannot be saved, the window now says which one and asks you to try again, instead of nothing happening.
This release carries everything listed under r297, which a failing check held back before it went out.
r297
Walk-up plans in the LUXengine style, and plans finessed as standard
11 September 2026
Your paid plan comes back in the LUXengine Vector style. Finalise, then Prepare my plans: the floor plan, and when there is a site plan, the two side by side and the floor plan within the site, each on its own page. Both plans are used, whichever tab you are on.
See them, then email them. The pages are shown in the window, and one tap sends them all to the email on your account. Nothing downloads on its own. If your account has no email address, each page has a Save button instead.
Try again for nothing. If the pages cannot be prepared, the window says why. The plan is already paid for, so trying again costs nothing.
Finessed as standard, or exactly as drawn. A new box, Finesse labels and fixtures, is ticked to start with: room names are lined up, sinks and cooktops are centred in their benches, baths and appliances are set square to their walls, and small rooms you left blank are named. Untick it to send the plan exactly as you drew it. It is in the Finalise window, for a job from a host and for your own plan. Change it after you have seen the result and the plan is prepared again before it can go.
The Download button is now Finalise.
r296
Twelve new symbols and two doors
11 September 2026
New in the palette. A dishwasher and a three-burner stove in Kitchen; a urinal, a round basin, an oval bath and an indoor spa in Bathroom; a lift with the stairs; and on the site, a jet ski, a golf cart, a tennis court, a small car and a sports car. Where the LUXengine Vector style has a drawing of the same thing, the new symbol follows it.
Two more doors. A single door drawn part open, for tight spots where a full swing will not fit, and hinged robe doors. Both are in Doors and windows.
Scanned dishwashers and stoves sit in the bench. A scanned dishwasher now comes in on its own piece of bench with DW on it, and a scanned stove is set into the bench the same way, so the bench runs straight through. An oven is left as it was, because it is often a wall oven.
The tennis court keeps regulation lines. Resize it to the fence on the property and the court lines stay their true size. Make it smaller than a court and the whole court shrinks rather than stretching.
Rooms name themselves from the new fixtures. A urinal on its own names a WC; an oval bath or an indoor spa names a bathroom; a three-burner stove, or a dishwasher with a sink, names a kitchen.
The lift stays where you put it, like the stairs: it does not snap to a wall. None of the new symbols is guessed from a sketch, so what your ink turns into is unchanged.
r295
Benches stop at walls
11 September 2026
Benchtops either side of a wall stay separate. A bench in the kitchen and one in the laundry, back to back through the wall between them, no longer join into one. Benches in an L, or in a row along the same wall, still join up as before.
A bench that already joined across a wall stays joined: delete it and draw the two again.
r294
Brand switching is on
11 September 2026
Preparing a job's plan now gives you the real thing. Prepare puts the plan in the agency's own brand, or the standard Vector plan if they have no kit yet, drawn by LUXbrand and shown to you before anything goes anywhere. A plan takes around half a minute.
On a job, the Export SVG button now says Finalise, and Send is now Submit plan. Finalise opens the same window: prepare the plan for the agency, check it, and submit it to the job. Download SVG is still there for the working file.
Submitting still waits for the job system's side. Until it is connected, the window says so and Download works as before.
r293
Path ends that lock on
11 September 2026
Drag either end of a path. Select a path and drag the round handle at either end. Drop it near a building, the lot line or another texture and it locks onto the edge, cut flush against it. Dropped in the open, it stays where you let go.
It locks on as you draw, too. Start or finish a path close to the edge of a lawn, a garden bed, another path or a building and it snaps to that edge. Lift the pen in the middle of a lawn and the path ends right there.
The width stays exactly what you set, whichever way the ends are moved.
r292
Ready for LUXbrand's sign-in
11 September 2026
Nothing you can see. LUXplan now signs in to LUXbrand the way LUXbrand's Google sign-in requires, so the brand step can be connected. Until it is, the export window says preparing plans is not connected yet, and Download works as before.
r291
Scans you can stand behind
11 September 2026
The scan stays with the plan. Every scan is kept with the job exactly as it arrived, with every wall end the app moved to close the rooms and by how much. It goes with the plan when you submit it, so any measurement can be checked later.
Walls the scanner was unsure of are flagged. They show a dashed line and a ? on the plan: red for low confidence, amber for medium. Check them with a laser. The flag goes once a wall is checked.
Laser checks, two a job. Tap a scanned wall and type what the laser reads along it into the Laser box, in metres or millimetres. The bar shows how far the scan was out. The scan window and the export window show how many checks you have taken.
Every number says where it came from. In the exported file, each room size and area is marked scanned, adjusted (a scanned wall has been moved), drawn, typed, or read off a builder's plan. The plan looks exactly the same.
Scans brought in before this release were not kept, so their walls count as drawn.
r290
Ready for LUXbrand
11 September 2026
An agency with no brand kit gets the Vector house page. Once LUXbrand is connected, a job for an agency with no kit comes back as the plan on the LUXengine house page in the Vector style, and is submitted as the standard plan.
Up to 50 plans a day each. Each photographer can prepare 50 job plans a day, far more than a day's work. Past that, the window says so, and the count starts again at 10am Brisbane time. Download still works.
Nothing else you can see: prepared pictures and unsent files are now cleared from the server once nothing can need them.
r289
The standard Vector plan
11 September 2026
No brand kit means the standard Vector plan. When you prepare a job and the agency has no brand kit yet, or its brand cannot be drawn, the plan goes as the standard Vector plan, and the window tells you which and why. An agency with no kit is flagged for one.
What the agent gets is always drawn by LUXbrand. The app no longer sends its own drawing in place of a brand. If the plan cannot be prepared, the window says why and there is nothing to send until you prepare it again. Download works as before.
Still not switched on. Submitting and LUXbrand still have to be connected at their ends. Until they are, the window says so and you download the plan as usual.
r288
Sending a job back
11 September 2026
For a job opened from your job list, the export window can send it back. Prepare puts the plan in the agency's brand and shows you exactly what the agent will get, then Send files it on the job. Nothing goes anywhere until you have looked at it.
No brand, no hold-up. If the agency has no brand kit yet, or brand switching is not working, the plan goes in the LUXengine house style and the window tells you why.
Not switched on yet. Sending and brand switching still have to be connected at their ends. Until they are, the window shows the house style, says sending is not connected, and Download works exactly as before.
r287
Works with no signal
10 September 2026
The app opens with no connection. Every job you have drawn is already on the iPad; now the app is too. Drawing, editing, saving and every tool work exactly as they do online.
On the iPad this needs TestFlight build 287. Install it, then open the app once with a connection so it can keep itself on the device. After that it opens anywhere.
What needs a connection says so. Address search, a new aerial, looking for a published plan, reading a plan, signing in, and buying or downloading your own export all tell you they need a connection instead of failing. An Offline mark sits in the top bar while there is no signal, and goes when it comes back.
Online, nothing changes: reopening the app still gets you the newest release.
The LUXengine font now comes with the app, so it looks the same with or without a connection.
r286
Width and surface, where you can reach them
10 September 2026
Choose before you draw. Tapping Path now opens its options: Footpath, Single or Double width (or type any figure), and the surface it is laid in: driveway, paving, concrete, gravel or deck. The next path you draw comes out that way.
Change it after. The bar that appears beside a selected path now has its width as well as its surface, so neither needs the side panel.
r285
Driveways and footpaths
10 September 2026
A Path tool on the site plan. Draw a driveway down its middle in one stroke and it comes out as an even band, curving the way you drew it rather than squaring itself up. You draw the line the car takes; the app does the width.
The ends meet what you finish on. Finish near the lot line or a wall of the house and the path lands on it and is cut off square along it, the way a real crossover meets the street. It will not catch on a lawn you happen to draw across.
Set the width, or make it a footpath. A path starts at 3 metres. Change the width in the panel and the whole thing redraws around the line you drew, still meeting the same fence and wall; the next path you draw keeps that width. Switch its surface to paving and the same band is a footpath.
Lay grass down and draw over it, or draw the path first and fill the grass in around it. Either way round, the path sits on top.
r284
Nothing you can see
10 September 2026
A repair to our own build checks. They had started reporting a problem that was not there, which hid any real one behind it. Nothing about the app has changed.
r283
Rotating on a site plan
10 September 2026
Symbols now snap square to what you can see. On a site plan started from an aerial the page is rotated by some odd angle, and rotating a car snapped it to a neat angle in the drawing underneath, which came out a couple of degrees off vertical on screen with no way to correct it. It now rounds what you are looking at.
r282
Notes for every release
10 September 2026
Nothing you can see in the app. This page went five releases out of date in its first week, so a test now refuses to let a release build without an entry here. If a change is invisible to a photographer it says so, which is better than a gap.
r281
Site plans behave
10 September 2026
Symbols snap to the block. Placing a symbol on a site plan now lands on the boundary's corners and edges. It used to ignore the drawing entirely and sit on an invisible grid.
Exported site plans fill the page. A north arrow added automatically with a Google aerial was being left stranded when the aerial was not exported, blowing the page up around it. One plan went from 89.5 x 92.6 m down to 66 x 69.5 m.
r280
Documentation only
9 September 2026
Nothing you can see. The repository's own documents were brought back in line with what the app actually does, ahead of handing it to a developer.
r279
The release chip, quieter
9 September 2026
The release number reads as a label rather than a second button sitting next to Download.
r278
A release number, and these notes
9 September 2026
The top bar shows which release you are on, and tapping it opens this page. It is the same number TestFlight shows as the build number.
The testing notes link was removed.
r277
Symbol export
9 September 2026
Nothing you can see. Every LUXplan symbol can now be written out as an SVG, so the brand converter can fill gaps where an agency's own style set has no drawing.
r276
Email a copy to yourself
9 September 2026
Email a copy to my account, in the export box. The file is handed over first either way; the email is a copy, and if it fails to send you still have the file.
It only appears when it can work, and only ever sends to the address on your own account.
r275
One tap, not two
9 September 2026
Buying hands the file straight over. It used to complete the purchase and then wait for you to press Download again, which read as the payment not having worked.
r274
Buying an export
9 September 2026
Buy one export at Apple's price for your country. Sign in with Apple first.
Re-exporting the same job is free. Fix a label, export again, pay nothing.
r273
A JPEG, not an SVG
9 September 2026
Download gives you an A4 landscape JPEG at 300 DPI, drawn to scale, with the address and the scale in the corner and no date. An .svg is a developer's format that most apps will not open.
r272
Download, and no Reset
9 September 2026
Export SVG becomes Download once you are signed in through the app. Arriving from a host's link still says Export SVG.
Reset app is gone from the top bar.
Both export tick boxes start unticked, and ticks are in the LUXengine gold.
r271
Sign out actually signs out
9 September 2026
Signing out cleared the device but left your name on screen, and the next launch brought the session back. Both fixed.
r270
Sign in with Apple
9 September 2026
Sign in on the address screen with your Apple Account. Your name replaces the link, and the next launch remembers you.
Nothing else about the app changed: a photographer who never signs in works exactly as before.
r264
Groundwork
9 September 2026
Security headers on every response, and a test suite the deploy will not go out without.
Angled corner benches, named storeys, and moveable, editable labels.
